Assistance Programs

Life Happens. We’re Here to Help.

Sometimes life happens, and not in the way you intended. If you find yourself with unexpected expenses and need help paying your utility bill, we’re here for you. Find out more about New York’s financial assistance programs and how you can apply, or support those in need.

Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps income eligible people pay the cost of heating their homes. If you are eligible, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit per program year and could also be eligible for emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of running out of fuel or having your utility service shut off.

Questions regarding the HEAP program should be directed to your local department of social services office or the NYS HEAP Hotline at 1-800-342-3009.

Senior Citizens

If you are 62 years of age or older, we will make every effort to maintain natural gas service to you and any other household members. You may also designate a third party to be notified if a bill is overdue and service is scheduled to be shut off.  Please provide the information at the bottom of our our Rights and Responsibilities form.
