First Responder On-Line Training
In an effort to foster a collaborative working relationship between the fire services and the utility, Liberty recommends that departments within the natural gas franchise areas consider enrolling their members in the Northeast Gas Association’s Natural Gas Safety and First Responder Training available online (www.ngafirstresponder.com).
Annual Emergency Event Training
On Sept. 10, 2025, Liberty hosted a tabletop MOCK Drill in Malone, NY at the Emergency Services building from 8am – 12pm.
Participants included:
- Liberty Utilities staff
- Malone Fire Department
- Franklin County Sheriffs Dept.
- Homeland Security (DHSES)
- CISA
- Malone Superintendent of Schools
- Franklin Emergency Service & 911 Dispatch
In addition to the annual emergency event training, Liberty also conducts several smaller training sessions with local fire departments throughout the year to educate them on natural gas properties, emergency planning, carbon monoxide, and more.
